The team (also known as, ‘the development team’ or ‘the technology team’) supports the online provision of the digitised collections of Europe’s cultural heritage institutions by designing, developing and maintaining Europeana's software for data ingestion, processing, publication, and retrieval. The product owners provide us with the requirements that we translate into real products.
The Research and Development team are experts on technological innovation for aggregation, enhancement and publication of digital cultural heritage data and its associated services. Notably, we spearhead R&D on data exchange (the Europeana Data Model), data quality, multilingualism, and search.
The Collections team is responsible for developing Europeana Collections and its thematic collections. We support cultural institutions who want to reach communities of culture lovers using the Europeana infrastructures.
